Victor Becker Fund

Austin resident Victor Becker is the embodiment of the CAPS Mission. At the height of his career, he turned a devastating diagnosis of Parkinsons into a new endeavor to find community and inspire others. Victor became an active member of the Capital Area Parkinson’s Society; becoming the first person with Parkinson’s Disease to serve on the board and became the president in 2020.  Under his tenure he shepherded CAPS through the pandemic, using his network and personal philanthropy. He helped build our community, sharing his vision that we are “better together” and his mental and physical techniques for thriving with Parkinson’s. His warmth and humor are contagious (he chose the name “Shake Shack” for our community support meetings!), and he continues to guide CAPS in an advisory capacity. Established in 2024, the Victor Becker Fund supports CAPS services and operations, ensuring Vic’s vision of enduring support for our friends and families who are affected by Parkinson’s Disease.

Amplify Austin on March 4-5, 2026

Please donate to CAPS as we aim to raise $25,000 to support individuals living with Parkinson’s disease in Central Texas. With your help, the Capital Area Parkinson’s Society (CAPS) can increase the number of support groups available to serve more individuals and their families. This growth will allow us to reach underserved communities in East Austin, Central Austin, Southwest Austin, and Lakeway, providing critical resources, connection, and hope to those navigating the challenges of Parkinson’s. Together, we can ensure no one faces this journey alone—your support makes a lasting difference.
