Capital Area Parkinson's Society

C.A.P.S. August 2024 Newsletter

Letter from C.A.P.S. Board Member,
Andrew Hodge

In 2019, I had the honor of joining the board of the Capital Area Parkinson’s Society (CAPS). Over the past six years, I’ve witnessed the incredible impact this organization has on our community. My journey with CAPS began from a desire to give back, stemming from my career as the owner of a home care company. Although I have since moved away from the healthcare space, my commitment to serving this community remains strong.

CAPS plays a vital role in supporting individuals with Parkinson’s, their families, and healthcare providers. We offer a range of resources, support groups, social gatherings, and educational opportunities. Our mission is not to replicate existing services but to complement and enhance them. This unique approach sets us apart and allows us to meet the diverse needs of those affected by Parkinson’s.

Our organization has seen significant growth and evolution, particularly in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19. Despite the difficulties, we emerged with renewed focus and energy. The resilience and dedication of our members and supporters have been truly inspiring.

Serving on the board of CAPS has been a deeply fulfilling experience. I am proud of the positive difference we make in the lives of so many. Whether through providing essential resources, fostering a sense of community, or offering valuable education, our efforts continue to support and uplift those affected by Parkinson’s.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact.

Andrew Hodge
CAPS Board Member since 2019
