Parkinson’s: Isn’t That Enough?

Knoel Babin and Dr. Cherie Simpson will be discussing psychiatric symptoms that may be associated with Parkinson’s disease.  Ms. Babin is the Founder, Director at Legacy Hospice of Austin.  Previously she was an RN Case Manager at River City Hospice where she was responsible for the care of older adults with life limiting illnesses.  She also launched the Austin branch of Texas hospice, recruiting a startup clinical team and medical director.  Ms. Babin graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.

Dr. Cherie Simpson is a Clinical Nurse Specialist with Senior Adults Specialty Healthcare and Research where she performs the medical management of geriatric psychiatric patients.  She also participates in research studies for new drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Simpson was an Assistant Professor at the UT School of Nursing and conducted research to improve sleep in family members caring for a loved one with dementia.

Parking Note:
Take the South access road of IH35 through the 32nd St. light.  Turn right on 30th Street. Free parking will be in the underground level (physician parking area) of Garage 2 at St. David’s Medical Center.  The entrance is just past the main garage entrance, and before reaching Garage 1.  A CAPS member or volunteer will be there to open the gate for you.  The elevator will take you to the fifth floor.
