Presented by Subhashie Wijemanne, MD, MRCP

Subhashie Wijemanne, MD, MRCP, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Co-Director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at the University of Texas Health San Antonio.  She obtained her medical degree from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where she passed with Honors and completed a post-graduate training in Medicine (MD) at University of Colombo, where she obtained Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians London (MRCP).  She went on to complete a Neurology Residency training at Tufts University, where she also served as the Chief Resident and obtained Fellowship training in Movement Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine, where she joined faculty.  She is a Board-certified neurologist of the American Board of Neurology and is currently involved in clinical research, medical education and has first author publications in multiple peer reviewed journals.  She has expertise in deep brain stimulation patient selection and programming, botulinum toxin injection and baclofen pump therapy.

Abbott Pharmaceuticals will be providing a light lunch after the meeting.

Parking Note:
Take the South access road of IH 35 through the 32nd St. light.  Turn right on 30th Street. Free parking will be in the underground level (physician parking area) of Garage 2 at St. David’s Medical Center.  The entrance is just past the main garage entrance, and before reaching Garage 1.  A CAPS member or volunteer will be there to open the gate for you.  The elevator will take you to the fifth floor.
