CAPS’ October membership meeting will feature an informative panel discussion with Dr. Rob Izor and team members from Neurology Solutions. The discussion will focus on key topics of interest to the Parkinson’s community, including treatment options and recent updates on DBS.

Lunch will be provided by our good friends and on-going supporters at Medtronics. CAPS Membership Meetings are free and open to all those in the Medtronic_logoCentral Texas area with an interest in Parkinson’s Disease. Plenty of free parking is available, too.

About Dr. Izor

Photo of Dr. Robert IzorRobert M. Izor, MD, MS, a Board-Certified neurologist, is the first Fellowship-trained motor disorders specialist in Austin specializing in the treatment of patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, spasticity and dystonia.

Dr. Izor has extensive knowledge and experience with the use of advanced, interventional treatments for neurological conditions including Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Botulinum Toxin (BTX) Therapy. Dr. Izor established Neurology Solutions Movement Disorder Center in 2004, the first and only subspecialty movement disorders clinic in Central Texas offering a comprehensive continuum of care that includes medication, nutrition counseling, physical therapy, cognitive and speech evaluation, pain and spasticity control, sleep evaluation, and surgical management including DBS and Intrathecal Baclofen Pump (ITB) Therapy.

Dr. Izor received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSCH) in 1999. He completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Residency in Neurology at UTHSCH, where he served as Chief Resident. Following residency training, Dr. Izor completed Fellowship at UTHSCH, with a focus on Movement Disorders. He holds a Master of Science in Molecular Immunology from the UTHSCH and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Dr. Izor is a member of professional societies including the Movement Disorders Society, the American Academy of Neurology and American Academy of Sleep Medicine. At the forefront of his profession, Dr. Izor contributes to both basic science and clinical research and is sought out to consult on the latest research, training and procedural education on movement disorders by other healthcare providers in the region. He is affiliated with St. David’s Medical Center.
