April 21th – 4th Annual Cars for Dystonia and Parkinson’s Show

It’s time to gear up for the 4th Annual Cars for Dystonia & Parkinson’s Show.  This year we are excited to have the opportunity to have The Oasis restaurant host our event along with an F1 Watch party on Sunday, April 21st from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.  We’re anticipating at least 200 cars this year including many exotic, classic, modified and street rods.  There will also be live music, snacks, many raffle items, Mobile Dyno, face painting, people’s choice awards and fun for the whole family!

As in the past, 100% of your tax deductible donation for this car show benefits two great organizations: the Capital Area Parkinson’s Society and the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation.

For those of you that have participated in the past, we’re committed to keeping this show a relaxed, casual afternoon where car owners and admirers can spend the day sharing stories of builds and road trips.  For those of you that haven’t made it out yet, we hope to see you there this year with your cars and family.  The combination of a beautiful backdrop of cars and Lake Travis is sure to be unique. Live music, slot car racing for the kids, raffle items, and the opportunity to watch the day’s F1 event (tape delay) are all icing on the cake.  While this is a relaxed atmosphere with cars in every stage of life, we will again hand out trophies for the crowd favorites in each category: Classic American, Classic Foreign, Late Model American, Late Model Foreign, Modified/Street Rods, Classic Trucks, and Clean/Hybrids (aka “Green Machines” in honor of Earth Day).

Cars for Dystonia and Parkinson’s has grown out of a community service project cousins, Jeremy and Josh Mosier, began when they were 13.  The project began by supporting the Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson’s Foundation because they have two important people in their lives that are affected by these diseases: their first cousin Jake and Josh’s grandfather Bernie.  By supporting Cars for Dystonia and Parkinson’s, we hope the funds raised will lead to treatments that improve the quality of life and eventually a cure of those stricken by these diseases.  Please support The Bachmann Strauss Dystonia and Parkinson Foundation, and The Capital Area Parkinson’s Society/Power for Parkinson’s , by donating online at www.cars4research.org, bringing your car to the show, or getting others out to The Oasis on April 21, 2013.
