December 19th – CAPS Annual Winter Holiday Program!

Holiday Candle

We wrap up the year with our Annual Winter Holiday program, on December 19th.  We’ll be joined this month by Cecily Sailer from the City of Austin Library, who will share information with us regarding a free workshop they are offering this winter for caregivers and care-recipients.

The program offers a creative writing workshop for caregivers and an art workshop for care-recipients.  Besides being a great chance to explore your creative talents, it will also be a very effective means of reducing stress levels. Part of our focus this month is the connection between Parkinson’s and creativity, so we are excited to let you know about this exciting opportunity.

Following Ms. Sailer’s brief presentation, we will break up into our small “Round Table” discussion groups, to discuss current issues in Parkinson’s. We will also take time to challenge ourselves to set new goals / New Year’s Resolutions for 2016, such as learning a new hobby, volunteering, attending a support group or a Power for Parkinson’s class, etc.

A potluck luncheon follows the meeting, and we are planning to have some live music as a special treat!  Come share some good food and great conversation — and feel free to bring a friend or family member.

And remember, all CAPS meetings are open to the public, and there is always plenty of free parking.
